Our Web Editor
Our Web Editor, Mary Rosenblum, has been publishing and teaching writing for nearly fifteen years. An instructor for the school, as well as a private tutor for both adults and teens, Mary has published seven novels and more than fifty short stories, as well as nonfiction articles. She is a frequent speaker at writers’ conferences.
In
1990 Mary’s
first story,
“For
a Price”
appeared in Asimov’s
Magazine. Since that debut, she has published more than fifty short stories
in the Science Fiction, Mystery, and Mainstream genres. Her novelette,
“Gas
Fish”
won the Asimov’s
Readers’
Award and was a nominee for the prestigious Hugo Award. Her stories appear
regularly in Asimiov’s
and Ellery Queen magazines.
Mary monitors the web site and oversees the Post A Note discussion as well as writing articles for Writing Craft and Surviving and Thriving as well as editing submissions from contributors. She moderates the Thursday evening live interviews, the Tuesday Open Forum and the evening After Hours discussions, providing a Professional Connection between participants, writers, and editors.
In addition to her short stories, Mary has published three Science Fiction novels, Chimera, The Stone Garden, and The Drylands, which won the Compton Crook Award for Best First Novel. Her short story “Search Engine” was included in the 2005 The Year’s Best Science Fiction and her current books include Horizons from Tor Books, and Water Rites from Fairwood Press. A collection of her Science Fiction stories, Synthesis and Other Virtual Realities is available from Arkham House Publishing. She has also published a mystery series as Mary Freeman, including Devil’s Trumpet, Deadly Nightshade, Bleeding Heart, and Garden View.
